My work has changed considerably over the years. My earlier paintings were bold and highly experimental. I worked on a large scale, building substantial textures and shapes and approaching the canvas with very few rules. More recently, studying art and learning to draw have changed the way I see and paint. My work has naturally become more representational, with greater attention to form, light, proportion and observation. Especially directional light. Yet I don't want realism to become the destination. I am increasingly drawn to finding the space between realism and abstraction. This collection reflects that ongoing search for a visual language and, ultimately, a style that is recognisably my own
